Depending on your requirements, your medical could take 2 hours.

🧾 How do I prepare for my medical?
- Do not take your medical if you have flu symptoms, as this can affect your results; rather, reschedule your appointment.
- Avoid taking strong medication before your test.
- Bring your ID and any relevant medical history or previous certificates.
- Make sure you are well rested, hydrated, and have eaten a light meal.
⚓ What are the SAMSA requirements?
SAMSA medicals include:
- An in-depth vision assessment
- A standard medical examination
- Certain categories may also require drug testing and chest X-rays
📅 How long is my medical valid for?
Medicals are valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
💰How much does a medical cost?
The cost depends on the type of medical you choose any additional tests required (e.g. chest X-ray or drug screen). A quotation can be provided before your appointment.
🏥 Where are the medicals done?
All medicals are conducted at our occupational health clinic by qualified professionals. Certain tests (like chest X-rays) may be done at our On-Site Industrial X-Rays unit, just 2 km away.
📋 What documents do I need to bring?
Please bring:
- A valid ID or passport
- Any previous medical certificates (if applicable)
- A list of current medications you are taking
👩⚕️ Who conducts the medicals?
All examinations are performed by our Occupational Health Nursing Pracitioner and trained support staff. All medicals are reviewed and approved by our Occupational Health Medical Practitioner, Dr Sing.
🚫 What if I fail my medical?
If you do not meet the medical requirements, you will be informed immediately and guided on the next steps (further testing, specialist referral, or treatment if needed).
📞 How do I book an appointment?
You can book via our reception team by phone, email, or walk-in. Pre-booking is recommended to avoid waiting.
🔄 Can I redo my medical before it expires?
Yes, you may renew your medical anytime before it expires, especially if required for a new contract or deployment.
🌐 Are my results confidential?
Yes. Your medical records are strictly confidential and handled in compliance with POPIA regulations. Only the required fitness outcome is shared with your employer.
